The owner of both flats of the converted period property wished to overhaul the ground floor flat by extending to the side and rear and redeveloping the layout. In order to avoid a long narrow footprint, a layout was developed to extend to the side and create an open courtyard so as to not block natural light and ventilation from reaching the second bedroom. The brief for the first floor flat was to enlarge the kitchen to allow for an island and table and a utility room. An additional bathroom was located next to the main bedroom.
